This family portrait session actually started with a pet portrait shoot on location at memorial at Windsor with Lucy Goo Pet Sitting. Lucy and I had collaborated that I would provide pet portraits of her clients and their pets at this meet and greet she setup. While I was there, I was approached by a family to do their portrait for a Christmas card. Because their toddler was only two, they requested I do an on-location portrait shoot instead of in-studio. I met the family in the community room at the Windsor where I setup my photography equipment. I took photographs of them along with their puppy and we had an amazing time. While taking pictures we also photographed the adorable little boy as he ran around and played with his Buzz Lightyear doll. I really liked the background of the accent wall in the community room and it worked well for the photography. I was also really pleased with the lighting during the shoot and the beauty of the family. The Christmas cards turned out fantastic and I received warm wishes from the family letting me know they appreciated the photographs.

Jigar needed business head shots for his new job in Houston. He contacted me under an emergency circumstance because several professional photographs were needed in a short time. I made arrangements for this and met him at the studio within hours of contacting me. Right beforehand, however, I setup the studio with a grey backdrop and the necessary lighting. He arrived and we took head shots with his suit jacket both on and off. He was a natural in front of the camera and we decided to do a small fashion shoot which included several more photos and turned out to be amazing. He ordered pictures and received them within 2 days ready to send to the corporate office. Both he and his girlfriend were happy with the turnout of the images.

A young lady called me to schedule a model portfolio shoot in order to apply for the Hooters Calendar. So we took both in studio and outdoor photographs of her in a two piece bathing suit. Her favorite shots from the day were photographs taken in a field near my studio near railroad tracks and the Houston skyline. I love those shots however my favorite shots are of her in front a brick building outside the studio. It’s always a joy to work with first time models, and after watching Alexis on her first shoot, she will no doubt do well in the business. Her boyfriend accompanied her to the photo-shoot and I took several photos of and delivered them at no extra charge as a complementary gesture for a job well done. She and I have tentatively scheduled another shoot on the beach in Galveston Texas during the summer months.

Jack called me because he wanted to have an photographic anniversary gift for his wife. He asked me to shoot on location at a bar in downtown Houston with his two children. I agreed and we met at La Carafe which was of particular significance to the family. We met and shot outside of the establishment on the patio area. Although the children were initially shy they soon warmed up to the camera and posed quite adoringly. The little sister was very affectionate, hugging her brother. This, I was told by the father, was quite unusual behavior for them at this point in time. I took individual portraits of each child as well as pictures of both children. Jack had 20×30 canvas print made of the photograph I took of them standing of them in front of the doorway of the establishment. In addition there was an order for several 8x10s and 5x7s on metalic prints for both individual and family portraits. I was told the surprise prints as a gift went well and his wife was very happy. The family went on to purchase an additional 15 images from the photo shoot.

Shelia was excited to graduate and contacted me to do her senior portraits. She wanted to have in-studio shots as well as urban senior portraits. She had two and a half wardrobe changes. First was a cap and gown. The second was a comfortable, layered outfit complete with scarf describing how she felt living day to day in the city of Houston. Her and her mother, arrived in the studio, and we initially took photographs of Shelia in the cap and gown. Then we took photographs of her and her mother (who, by the way, is a sweetheart). After these portrait shots, it was only a short walk from the studio to taking photographs outside with the Houston skyline in the background. From there, we took some photographs on a walkway which was over a freeway on the opposite side of my studio. After those photos, we went a short walking distance to the Houston warehouse district and took pictures in front of some very eclectic brick buildings. In between shots of buildings we had so much fun locating some exiting and fantastic city street angles. My favorite happens to be an action shot I took where Shelia is walking down a sidewalk above moving cars played off as a background in-motion. Congrats Shelia, not only did you make our shoot wonderful, but you were an absolute natural in front of the camera.

Wishing you continued success after graduation!

A loving pet owner Karen contacted me first week of December of 2011 to provide pet portraits of her adorable shih tzu, Chloe. We could not have had a better shoot. Chloe is a sweetheart and a diva dog that posed so naturally in front of the camera. She is a superstar.

Karen wanted to have professional portraits of her dog Chloe so that she could make a brag book using multiple photographs to show family on Christmas vacation.

We took approximately 80 images during our shoot both in studio and outdoors. Of those, Karen chose 25 for her book. My favorite picture of the puppy Chloe, is the action shots of her walking toward the camera and with her fur blowing in the wind with downtown Houston in the background.
